First of all, this is the FIRST song I ever heard from Joell Ortiz:

I remember telling my boy, NOT EVEN HALF WAY THRU THIS SONG, “Yo, I can’t listen to this”… “he and NO ONE can ever touch these beats” … “this is disrespectful”. But, after calming down and giving it a chance, I realized Joell is a MONSTER and he is doing it in honor of Pun.
Second of all, Joell has done plenty more tribute tracks to Pun and no one has said a word publicly. Now, all of a sudden people wanna talk shit? I would completely understand if Joell was disrespecting or talking shit, but he is HONORING a man who he feels is a LEGEND.
Third of all, with all due respect, I don’t see Cuban and/or Tony putting out a track as sick as the Big Pun Back track. They simply don’t have it in them.
I still think it would be great to hear Cuban on a track with Joell and Tony on the hook…. Make it happen fellas!!
I don’t understand why people get mad at Joell for this Track anyway. Joell dedicated far more Tracks (or to be precise VERSES) to Pun than just this one. They should get mad at the originator Meek Mill for starting that trend anyway…Because nobody got really mad at him for doing it. Or let’s say Maino or Uncle Murda didn’t get hate for “Biggie Back”.
It’s just confusing to me.
They should appreciate that Joell is showing so much love to Pun instead of hating on him for his efforts.
