A great original Timeless school bboy.All bboys are entertainers.Wayne,went the xtra mile though.I don’t wanna’ compare styles when eulogizing a legend.I will tell you (something) he did that makes me say that.
He was fun/& funny.When Take One (rip,another) orig. school RSC great.Laughed at his “hump” move.Stating.“That’s that old ish”.Frosty didn’t get p’d(or even…..snap back in a friendly Uptown style) at his younger bredren for “stating” that while Henry & “Marty”Martha Cooper were filming.What he did do was continue to focus on interview.Like it was a rival crew’ (Dynamic)…..&a glossy piece of funkyfresh 8’11’ piece of linoleum was Center Stage.
Anyone whose scene the whole Lincoln Center battle knows Frosty’s showmanship WON battles.
Also,the scene in Flashdance.A lady named Ruza Blue was RSC’s manager at the time….funny story…..“Lady” Blue (i was just a 16yr.old whom loved to dance,but was more “Known” for a dif element…..the one thing she did know,or wanted to…..was whose this KID….which i was…..going to the front of line at Club Negril15-20 deep)*club negril was orig Roxy*.So she approached me w/idle chit-chat…..then said my names Blue,…..i manage RSC!…..I said my name……BONG!!!!…..She goes i’m moving venue to a huge roller rink on W18th.street it’s called…..“The Roxy”.She said “i see some ink on your hands,i think it’s safe to say i know what you do.”Would you like to help myself and a few others promote shows with people like……Futura 2000,Zephyr,Revolt,my mentor Dondi(rip),Fab 5 Freddy,Keith Haring,Jean Michael Basquiat…..she was smart,and great with us….This story i’ll end with where i began (&their’s a very ironic twist)…..Wayne.
So March ’83 rolls along.I got a phone call…..at one of many crash spots that became necessary to have in money makin’……due to the hrs. (mid.-7,or 8am at15-about to turn16)i was keeping.I picked the phone-up……& she was real excited…..she had gotten the call confirming Flashdance……i’ll tell you some great stories…..ie….why Normski got the part…..&the most asked ?,where are Buck-4….& Kuriaki.On a post that’s not about Wayne…..&the gift he gave us…..stay tuned for the conclusion to this truely amazing story.Within this extremely amazing life we call hiphop.RIP…..Frosty…..we all miss you…..i’ll be back,i know…..i can feel him telling me “finish telling them now”…..BLESS
Before i finish^^.I’m not Sir Isaac Newton…..(i loved Dazed & Confused i wish dips still rocked that look…..i know yo,but i’m allowed to look*in response to wife Christina cuz now that son Khaled or he says “just the stee of a big-kid/within Khaled” yeah,he’s a DJ but he’ll wield the mic & i’ve got him some 9X12 canvases,that after he does homework,he’ll go to piecebook work on outline literaly& mentally construct how You A.how want’ piece to look*i have peoples at Can Control that carry piece books shaped like a Train,an MTA train.*B.how if it was days of yards…..&……yards of “Whitey Whites” how would you want everything from your Charachters received,& perceived…..how you wan’t what you shouldn’t wanna’ waste paint in situation put yourself in i tell him “we risked freedom….when a writer of noteriety gets busted it’s like the MTA,the police commish,the mayor,the janitor at city county building all want props from you….&….that rarely,nearly ever happened during bombing,it happened either tryin’to overly kill “insides”,…but evenly more so sloppy paint-racking.Makin’ him understand at least ok we aren’t bombing and i buy his paint from a gentelman i racked(not proud…..no other way,……funny were kids,some orig. bombers even that were born to wealth at 16 had their pops Gold card at disposal,…..but you buy paint from a goldcard…..you could do dopest burner known to man…..&….it’s null..& void.Why?….good question….answer should appear in reading that my son is so huge in my heart…..& he doesn’t do like i’m the piano lessons rogue dad forcing it upon him.He only wants to learn,….the only way i can teach….so it’s an amazing thing to see him pick-up *as i’ve said,lol,several times my stint at Matador…..during Large Pro,Arsonists,Mr.Len….as a seperate entitiy….let me get squeeze show date & LJ…..aka…..TheWorldsMostInterstingMini(pause)Mixer where he discusess briefly but long enough*xtra pause*……that i even had talks w/…..Dave(aka no more Trugoy aka no more yogurt spelled backwords)….from De La,yeah me….talking about doing a solo LP *eh mills….stroy….if someone made that happen NOW,let me pick my own brain(pause)…..BONG!….Theres our 10mic Classic…..Sorry but Khaled got me sentemental…..& i don’t think…..Wayne…..would be anything but happy with the Khaled joy…..rest in peaceful power…..Frosty…..i’ll continue for next few days to get something they also may remember you did….on…or off the many dif surfaces…..whether in a Nylon DOLPHIN(who knows bout’ dat,lol,seriously beauty)…..rockin…on concrete…..or a mock-neck….@A roller-rink!!!!….I’ll make sure,as Stroy & MILLS at the7thboro have…..that your memory lives on as it deserves…..til’eternity….BLESS.
