I not only know PGH,PA. as my Wife’s birthplace.I own a store there also.Peop’s know it.No shame-less plugs.This topic hits deep.So it’s safe to say.I know a few of the so-called “Players” in their hiphop scene.First quickly let me say Mel-Man,LoveLetter,StrictFlow(whom are incredible….had them signed at RawShack when J-Live’s“Bragging Rites” and Mr.Complex’s “Visualise” were being cut lovely by LazyJay.lol.SamSneed,whom way before DeathRow.Was along side PeteRock*yes PeterPhillips* and myself.During K-Solo’s slept-onTime’s-Up LP his 2nd and last as far as relevance goes*go back and peep “The Formula” not the D.O.C’s which is very dope.This version however was named by Bobbito as “joint most authenticaly to make you feel like your at a Col’Crush jam with-out sounded dated.*Stroy your intro’s dead-on.This record is also.)

Just wanted to let the7thboro heds in P-G-H that are fans know I’ll always tell’em fact’s.Nothing but facts.
Back to Mac.Fact is (rewind back to BOE & I peepin’ Off The Radar) the intro to vid.Son’s sleeping with a bong.Unusual behavior for even may i say a Pot-Head.Then we move on to (the real liquid crack 30-40 “handle’s” of Hennessy*a handle>a gallon!!!!……This before the decent beat with a great hook NAS’ Hook>hit 99% of time-especially “&The nike’s on my feet make my cipher complete”…..from “TWIY”.)
Then we move-on to my wife’s H.S. alma-mater.When she was there.She (tells me) “myself and the other 6 PR’s that attended via being bussed with other’s of color.”
This is when MM takes us thru’ the rugged terrain of SQUIRREL HILL *picture Sutton Place wealth spread out into 2.5 million dollar homes that’d be 25m. in say GreatNeck,LI*……yet we even get to see faces of color in video.As far as Nate Dogg(rip) & his relation to MM.Their is none.As far as someone seeing a photo of Nate Dogg i was looking at where he had a brandy snifter and an L in hand.Then making any comparison’s.Stop…..
This is why Will Smith has always had my respect.Not for all of the “bangers” he un-leashed.But for sayin’ “I’m from W.Philly.Went to Overbrook HS.I didn’t grow-up pumpin’ jum’s.So why rhyme in any detail bout’it.”
Mel-Man the dude that prod. X’s L.A.Times and much of well what Dre did between ’97-’03.That’s where DRE’s been.Mel-Man is doing his thing in Atl.
The Will Smith call-it,realism.Cuz it was.His.It opened doors for artists following (not in stee,in chronology) to say “Yeah,were doing this joint called “Potholes in my Lawn”…..the ultimate homage to being Themselves.Titles as metaphor.Beat’s that match.Amityville,LI not the friendliest place.If you were born on Park Ave….If born & raised in QB,or Eny.Not so bad.Much of it’s relative to what you already know.
I know as Stroy quick to point,and well-taken.For the life of me.Also my socio-eco on going home-study course,lol.Not Funny.As i look-out my window.One of the last of Rockaway Blvd. homes on one of last residential streets.I think about what BOE said (he live’s in St.John’s pj’s,a stone’s throw from us.)….and he didn’t mean in tough-guy way.Just like “watch what wish for *or rhyme about.”When he said be like if rhyming bout’ Scarsdale,became “in”.How lost we’d be.Yet you could drop me off there.Not only would we make it back.Prolly in style,lol.You flip that script,though.The E.N.Y.-Express,the A,L.Ask for directions,lol.ha.I think self’s-identity is SO VITAL in hiphop & thus life.I’m proud of mine.You all need to-just suggestion-be proud of yours.As i’m quite sure Famo-e.g.-Stroy,Mills,LJ,the homie Gato -TUS-peace,Christina (wifey) peace & thank’s for being you & your contribution….

Aeyo everybody.party peoples.Excuse lil’ tangent.? is how brown do you wanna’ be when checkin’ blk.,other, or white for job a T-F-B doesn’t need.Or in my case and thousands of men and women that “fit a description” of race that makes up 65% of metro NYC.And get blasted in front of your @time 5yr.old…..then gotta’ explain the officer (respect) vs. Over-seer (break-a-neck,lol) theory.Fine line,you get intro’d to akward real quick.Kids want real answers.They (mine) doesn’t go for bs.Or lies on what feels (&he’s correct) he should know truth bout’.So that’s on some fwiw ‘ish.I think method keeps us boys.
