“An Emmy before a Grammy. Crazy [bleep]!” -Nas
Over the years we’ve seen Nas go from Nasty to Esco to Nastradamus to God’s Son….well you know what I mean. Apparently he has another title we weren’t aware of and that’s an “Emmy Winner”. Now whenever I relate MC’s and film I recall a movie by the name of “Belly”. Although this was movie was a hood classic…..when compared to other movies in that genre it didn’t really measure up. Nas totally proved my MC/Film theory false with the making of “Survival 1”. The film follows two amputee victims of the Liberian civil war who form a soccer team and eventually became champions. Nas, who narrated and scored the film won a National Sports Emmy for his work on the ESPN documentary. Shout out to Nas for educating and inspiring the people. Peace.
