Every once in a while I’ll come across a gem in the inbox. It rarely happens but when it does it’s very exciting. Slik Jack sent his latest project over. I only listened to it once but I’m pretty hype about this one. I’ll most definitely have this in rotation over the next few days. You can tell that Slik put a lot of time and effort into this project. Dope beats. Dope rhymes. Dope cover art. Hip Hop is beautiful. Salute.
Slik Jack and Sqreeb put together a Concept album where Slik embodies ‘the kingpin’ from the early Marvel Comics created by Stan Lee with a haywire twist on the character. Slik digs deep within the character even going as far as using Kingpin’s ”Real name” Wilson Grant Fisk, and bringing the character to our reality. As I listened to the album I found myself cracking up at multiple lines as well as causing myself some neck injuries from heavy headbanging. Slik jack was not the only one to mutate on this record Sqreeb was a Monster bringing a piece of art after piece of art.
