The Roots- Do You Want More?!!!??!:   On January 17, 1995, The Roots released their second album. Defying the curse of the “sophmore slump”, this album was the beginning to their reign as arguably the best group in Hip Hop history. ?uestlove and the band filled this album with smooth and flawless mix of Jazz and Hip Hop. A young Black Thought spits sick rhymes throughout the album…looking back, we see how much he has improved into one of the greatest lyricist ever. Definitely not my favorite Roots album, not because this wasn’t a classic….but because their catalog is so strong.

Production on the album was done by: Grand Negaz, Questlove, Kelo, A.J. Shine, Black Thought, and Rahzel.

Tracks filled with sick rhymes on “Distortion to Static”, “Mellow My Man”, “Do You Want More”, and “The Lesson Part 1”. Then some creative concepts and stories on “Lazy Afternoon”, “Silent Treatment”, and “The Unlocking”. I chose my favorite track on the strength of its second verse…one of my favorite Black Thought verse.
