Anyone who knows anything about Hip Hop understands the importance of the DJ. The DJ sets the tone for the party. The DJ controls the mood of the crowd. The DJ gets the crowd hype! The DJ compliments the MC to make sure the microphone and the crowd get rocked correctly. Being the brother of a DJ, I was exposed to many different DJs from different genres of music. There was one name that was (and still is) considered to be the nastiest DJ/Producers to ever touch vinyl. That man is the legendary DJ Premier. Preemo has produced for many different artists across different genres of music. He has a distinct boom bap sound that can be recognized instantly. Many have tried to duplicate him but there is only on Preem. I’ve decided to use this platform as a tribute to DJ Premier. I decided to call this series “Works Of Mart” Wednesday.
