Often referred to as a father of style, Phase 2 is considered to many to be one of the most significant painters of the aerosol movement. In the early 1970’s Phase 2 was a key figure, helping to pioneer the creation and reinterpretation of new letter forms. Phase 2 developed Softie letter, more commonly referred to as Bubble letters. He also introduced arrows, an important graphical component to pieces. He was a major force in creating a visual look for Hip-Hop. Phase 2 is considered to be one of Hip-Hop’s 1st graphic designers as he designed many of the early party flyers and posters of the time. Phase 2 elevated the art form to a place unknown before his time. Thank you Phase 2, the truest of legends.

Props to the originators!
