MYFOXNY.COM – A family in Harlem is mourning their daughter, who was killed in a shooting in Brighton Beach Thursday evening. Tysha Jones, 16, was sitting on a bench with some friends when two gunmen walked up from the beach and started shooting, the NYPD said. Jones was hit in the torso and died. Police do not believe she was the intended target. Her family is outraged by the violence and said that Jones was a good teenager who was not involved with any gangs. The other victims — all in their 20s — were taken to Coney Island Hospital and Lutheran Hospital, according to police. The NYPD believes the intended target was someone in Jones’s group and that the shooting followed an earlier fight on the beach.
