Queens Emcee Eff Yoo, and Chi-town producer Rediculus, team up once again to drop the new album The Eff Word. Eff Yoo is coming off the heels of a top 10 iTunes debut with his collaborative project “The Come On Horseback” with Godilla. Eff Yoo – a Peruvian immigrant from queens NY – got his chops in hip hop in a variety of ways, from famous underground spots like Wetlands and Nuyorican Poets Cafe, to street cyphers while working for Rawkus. With a perfect mixture of street smarts and actual smarts, Eff Yoo weaves braggadocio sci fi tales from the hood. Eff Yoo doesn’t stand alone, with family in both the underground super group Broken Home and a member of the mighty Lo-Life’s, Effs influences range from early hip hop like Slick Rick and Kool G Rap, to MF Doom and Nas, Hector Lavoe and Radiohead, to Sade and Bob Dylan.
Rediculus is coming off a great year in 2015 where we saw him starting the year with his own project “In Response: Dee-Fi” as well as producing and releasing several EP’s with UK MC’s Big Ribzy and Trademark Blud, the hit single Buy Me A Beer and subsequent UK tour with Rich Quick, Comet’s “End of Dayz” LP as well as his Thought Foundry project and the first few singles for his Alt-Soul project RedAir. His unique blend of boom bap roots with modern sounds and rhythms have grabbed more attention this year as his sound is expanded thru the MC’s that he works with.
