Fugees– The Score: On February 13, 1996, the Fugees released their second and last album. They managed to create the perfect blend of Hip-Hop, Reggae, and R&B to establish a very influential Hip Hop album. At a time when there was the East vs. West Coast drama, this trio was putting out music that was accepted from coast to coast and worldwide. Pras and Wyclef are not on anyone’s Top 30 list of best MCs and Lauryn may be up there in in the Top 10 to 15, but together they made great music.
Production included: Fugees, Jerry Duplessis, Salaam Remi, John Forté, Shawn King, and Diamond D.
It included guest appearances from John Forté, Omega, Diamond D, Young Zee, Rah Digga, and Pacewon.
It is one of the highest selling Hip Hop albums of all time for a reason: “No Woman, No Cry” and “Killing Me Softly” are both extrememly successful covers of amazing songs… “Cowboys”, “Zealots”, and “Fu-Gee-La” were also great tracks… But MY favorite track on the album has to be:
“Ready or Not”
