Any one who owned a television set in the 90’s knew the dominance that Shaquille O’Neal possessed on the basketball court. He also had a few other talents besides playing basketball. We all know his acting career didn’t turn out so well (Kazaam), but he did put out some pretty solid Hip Hop joints. I’m not going to front, I owned a few Shaq albums. As a whole these albums weren’t great, but there were a few tracks that were definitely classic. Here are two tracks that were so good that you had to buy the album. This is way before itunes sold just individual tracks. So lets hop on the 7th Boro express and take a journey down memory lane. Peace.

Propinas and love to DIESEL.He made NBA BBALL fun for the shorty’s to watch a literal GIANT.Have fun,while winning,giving & getting/ love/ while at the same time kool-aid grinning.For 20 plus yrs. before LSU I got to peep him at McDonald’s Roundball Classic MSG style.As a 7’1″ center from San Antonio,TX….but hold-up my NJ bredren.YES *in MarvAlbert voice*props on your STEVE BROCK.* YES,Shaq was birthed in Newark,NJ.Which gave him his friendship/GODFATHER of son Cory & cousin to father Peter.Gunz,of course.Cross-Bx.-Expressway’s that is.DJ’s.MC’s.BBOY’s.
As for music & hiphop in general.You can tell it’s in his NATURAL….as in unforced persona.
2 more Shaq joint’s to enjoy are his debut.“I Know i got Skillz” Backed with the multi-talented Def Jeff.Yes,the bartender in DEEP COVER.The Delicious Vinyl recording artist also Jersey birthed Cali transplanted.You know him prolly most from We All In Same Gang vid & verse.Soul Food LP he dropped in ’89 had some joint’s.
I also like cousin Peter Gunz with the assist.On a ’97-early ’98 joint that seemed to have a video shot in Sin City(LV).His music served an important purpose in showing the youth you can be multi-talented,& have an outgoing personality.First & foremost being yourself.Which if you say 1 thing about Mr. O’ Neal.He was Diesel!!!!
